Over the next 20 years, China has plans to construct more nuclear power capacity than currently exists in the USA (the country with more nuclear power capacity than any other). The resulting low cost electricity will allow China to motor ahead of the USA.
The ascendance of China does not denote the demise of America. It would be great for American businesses if we too developed low cost power. Still, provided we remain open to trade, we will enjoy the growth of China and what it means for America products.
China cannot sell us anything without accepting the dollars that they will ultimately spend or lend in America. Thus, low cost products will be available to Americans and US products will be sold to the highest bidder, where ever that bidder might reside.
