CONGRESS TELLS ANOTHER FUNNY STORY

On separate bills, both houses of congress just voted overwhelmingly to suspend purchases of oil for the US Strategic Petroleum Reserve. Just before voting for the suspension, the senate voted , 56 to 42, against opening ANWAR for drilling. Representative Joe Barton was outraged. He says that several democratic senators suggested the suspension of reserves would cut the price of gasoline by 25 cents per gallon. For 10 years, democratic leaders have repeated the story that the opening of ANWAR would probably only decrease the price of gasoline by 1 cent.

DUH! HOW DUMB CAN WE BE?

ANWAR is expected to produce a million barrels per day. The fill rate of the SPR is 70,000 barrels per day. The last time I checked, 1,000,000 was a larger number than 70,000, 14 times the size. ANWAR will take several years to develop. Write your representative to say that it is time we got started.
