GOOD NEWS; SPAMBUSTING GETTING SERIOUS!

The federal government is encouraging Internet Service Providers to block hackers from taking over home computers to send spam. Spam busting is a complicated cat and mouse process. It is good news that governments are getting serious. By the way, this will be the set up to the second phase of the internet growth curve.

Using Harry Dent's analogy, the cycle in the growth of the internet is playing out like the growth of the automobile during the last century. In a sense, MSFT is a lot like Ford. MSFT was the early market inventor and leader. Those who purchased Ford made quick fortunes. However, the car was not widely adopted until other innovations came along. General Motors added many innovations and "sold" the other half of the population on their need for the auto. Google is perhaps the GM of the internet. Google, Yahoo and others are adding functions to the internet that will make it indispensable. Mobil internet is going to be a life changing product.

I teased a young church member yesterday. I pulled my cell phone out of my pocket and told her Dad that she would be talking to her computer one day, telling it what to do for her. She said she already talks to her computer and even yells and screams at it!

Spam busting is needed. Google offers to route search through its servers. This is a powerful way for Google to learn in great detail how the internet is being used but it also potentially makes Google a gateway to block spam, viruses and other abuses. Jail terms should be stiff for phishers who steal identity. Cooperation of business and government is needed to halt the rampant spamming that occurs.

The internet should not be taxed because it is a wealth creator for our country. The internet is a productivity machine. We all benefit when companies increase efficiency and reduce costs through the use of the internet. Kill the spam; it is time to take the next step in the information age revolution.

BUY THE BULL MARKET! WITH LONG TERM RATES EDGING UP, IT IS HARD TO BE AS ENTHUSIATIC A BULL AS I HAVE BEEN. HOWEVER, WE STILL HAVE A LONG WAY TO GO. THE BULL IS ALIVE. THE ECONOMY IS VERY STRONG. ONLY A FEW WEEKS AGO, THERE WAS MUCH CONCERN ABOUT THE "ECONOMIC SOFT SPOT" BASED ON THE MOST RECENT NUMBERS THE BIGGER RISK IS THE ECONOMY IS TOO STRONG. AIN'T IT AWFUL! THE STRENTGTH SHOWS THAT GREENSPAN HAS BEEN CORRECT TO RAISE RATES. THE INCREASE IN RATES IS GOING TO SLOW THE RATE OF INCREASE IN HOUSE PRICES BUT IT IS NOT GOING TO SLOW DOWN THE TECHNOLOGY BOOM. BUY TELECOM--INTERNET EQUIPMENT COMPANIES. THE SECOND WAVE OF GROWTH HAS BEGUN AND IT SHOULD LAST AT LEAST 4 YEARS!
