Bambi nor the short sellers understand the significance of TIVO-To-Go. The recent announcements are about expanding on the transferability of TV shows to every thing from laptops to cell phones. Microsoft, INTC, American Airlines nor TIVO will make money quickly off media centers with stored content on airlines. However, it will put the technology in the face of millions of qualified customers.
TIVO service has a very low churn rate. Once a person tries it, he is not likely to cancel the service. Millions are going to be introduced on American Airline flights and the new program makes it easy to transfer shows to cell phones, PDAs and other devices.
I-pods and similar sized PDAs now have hard drives of 20 or 30 Gigabytes. In the near future, it will be common to carry a weeks worth of TV viewing in a shirt pocket. Furthermore, the content will be automatically updated wirelessly through automatic wi-fi connections. High speed wireless connections are being deployed that cover miles of territory. A new metric for wireless coverage is square miles covered.
Low cost data feeds to pocket PCs will provide "killer apps" that will move these devices up the "S-curve". FON is just one cell phone company that is preparing for TIVO-To-Go. TXN estimates that 70% of all cell phones sold in 2006 will include video screens.
Twenty-five percent of TIVO shares are sold short; ouch! I feel the pain. I am sorry but it is about to get a lot worse. If you are one of the unfortunate ones who are caught in the squeeze, take your lumps now, buy back the shares now, save a lot of heart ache. This stock has great potential. The next press release about the deal with Comcast may be more than the shorts can take.
THE BIG BULL BOOM IS NEAR! I CAN'T RECOMMEND STOCKS BUT INVESTORS SHOULD TAKE A HARD LOOK AT TXN AND FON. SPECULATORS SHOULD CONSIDER TIVO!
