Strongest Incoming Class Ever Headed to Carolina

Does a national basketball championship help a school recruit good students? You bet it does! UNC just recruited its strongest freshman class ever.

UNC just offered admission to 6,671 students. The average SAT-I score of the class is 1336. Twenty-six percent of the class are African-American, Hispanic, Asian or Native American. The class includes 290 merit-based scholars.

The basketball team will have to rebuild. The top seven players graduated or left for the NBA. The school continues to develop and by many accounts it is the best state supported university in the country. I am thankful to have graduated from UNC, especially in light of the fact that I would have a hard time being admitted under today's standards.
