Bill Cara: Capital Markets & Social Equity

Bill Cara: Capital Markets & Social Equity

Bill Cara remains negative. He believes the latest rally won't last. He may be right. The market has flipped and flopped for a long time. I don't pretend to know when the next big move is going to start but the negative sentiment--wall of worry--is out there. I am staying fully invested and I continue to get nice pops in value.

Did you notice our stock of the week this week? What timing? We had second thoughts about posting USG because of the asbestos problems. Two liberal senators are said to have signed on to a liability limitation bill. The asbestos stocks were off to the races.

Another good performer today was TIVO. TIVO has the patents! Today, Smith Barney upgraded the stock. TIVO has a deal with Comcast! The stock was put on a death watch list a couple of months ago. TIVO has a deal with Direct TV! The company is suing Echo Star for patent infringement. TIVOis working on technologies that will allow targeted, contextual advertising that is unobtrusive! We have a nice gain in the past couple of weeks.

The sentiment is so negative that many traders will sell the market if it breaks out. They will buy back on the way up. The next move should be pretty big. Hang in there, be patient and make some money!
